Congressman Admits: Banks Own U.S. Congress

Banks Own U.S. Government

In 2009 Senator Dick Durbin [D IL] unequivocally admitted that the Banks “own” Congress.   When Mr. Durbin realized that the Bailed-Out Banks would successfully defeat a bill that would have provided some relief to financially distressed Americans, Mr. Durbin stated:

“And the banks — hard to believe in a time when we’re facing a banking crisis that many of the banks created — are still the most powerful lobby on Capitol Hill.   And they frankly own the place.”  (Emphasis added.)

Congresswoman Maxine Waters is also known to admit that the banks “own the place”, meaning the U.S. Congress.

The Banks apparently also own Obama’s pay czar Kenneth Feinberg who decided not to recoup the multi-million dollar  bonuses that were paid to executives of banks receiving government bail-outs.   Mr. Feinberg made this decision because he believed that shaming the Banks was punishment enough!!!!    (Are you kidding me?!!)

Illinois bankruptcy Attorney Andy Miofsky writes about the banks’ insatiable appetite for profit and their control of U.S. Congress in his blog article Bank’s Want Higher Debit Card Fees.

The banks ownership of our government  is probably why there has been no “meaningful” relief for Americans forthcoming from Congress, in stark contrast to the billions dumped into helping the Banks out.

Oh, there have been a lot of bills passed that sound good, such as “Hope For Homeowners” and “Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives” (HAFA), but so far they have been mere puffery with no substance or force.

Most legislation is dependent upon the Banks’ “voluntary” participation.    Despite the Banks rhetoric and advertisements expressing a desire to help homeowners,  however, the banks are not cooperating.  (“They want dollar for dollar what’s owed on that loan or something close to it.”   Peyton Herbert, director of foreclosure services at HomeFree USA, a housing counseling firm in Hyattsville).

The new economy brings many changes.  In January 2011 we saw the people reject the Tunisian Regime.   We recently observed the Egyptian people bring about change and reject an intolerable government.   A worldwide phenomena is occurring as we watch the many repressed people in the Arab world say, “We’re not going to take it anymore”.

Perhaps it is time for change in the United States Congress as well.   Its time for Americans re-take control of their Congress…… before it is too late.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property – until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Thomas Jefferson, 1802

  1. […] These program titles were mere puffery; the governmental programs lacked any “teeth”.   But why does that surprise anyone since our own U.S. Congress members admit the banks are running the U.S. Congress. […]
